Streatham Youth and Community Trust ran Summer Holiday activities at our three sites from end July through to the beginning of September. Children and young people benefited from our Monday to Friday activities which kept them busy, entertained and learning. Games, sport, drama and art were key features. Staff also provided a free, hot lunch to all participants. A big thank you to all staff, funders, supporters and volunteers!
Our Young Leaders were given the opportunity to gain meaningful work experience and increased employability skills and improved qualifications. They completed training in job skills, tennis activation, peer mentoring and food hygiene. The accreditation improved their self-confidence and provided a sense of achievement. They also increased job readiness by applying skills gained in the project by volunteering and doing paid work placements within the summer camps.
