History

Streatham Youth and
Community Trust
was established in 1946 to meet the needs
of local young people.

Our Vision

Streatham Youth and Community Trust

SYCT meets the needs of the local community through the provision of a wide range of activities focusing on education and training, personal development, support for disadvantaged groups, sport and the arts. 

 

We are a dedicated, full time provider of youth services.

Our Groups & Clubs

SYCT provides high quality youth services and facilities
to children, young people, vulnerable adults and the wider community.

Youth

SYCT provides a drop in youth club for people living in Streatham. Our youth services Club Activities held for juniors & seniors between the ages as follows: 8-11, 8-13, 11-15 and 14-21. Including sports, pool, gaming, board games, arts, pottery or just chill with your mates.

Sports Club

At SYCT, we believe being active is vital to the physical and mental health and wellbeing of children & young people. We provide a range of sport activities and youth sessions from football, taekwondo, basketball and outdoor adventure trips.

Employability

The team at SYCT supports young people aged 16-24 to get into employment, education or training. We provide support with interview skills, job search & applications, CV & Personal Statement writing, as well as access to local jobs, apprenticeships & training. 

Sprig Ludens

SYCT  launched Sprig Ludens Forest School Nursery in October 2018 as an affordable, sustainable provision & has become a community asset. Our fabulous indoor & outdoor play spaces see children
enjoying & exploring nature through personally directed play.

Play Time

Children have the right to fun & supervised outdoor
adventurous play in a safe setting.

The Club is for Parents/Carers and children ages 0-5 years old
and is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12-3pm.

Fundraising & Charity Shop

SYCT shop Manager Sandy and her team of volunteers run a fantastic trade in high-quality clothes (men and women), ornaments and jewellery. The Shop is widely seen as a great asset to the area and all items are donated by the local community.

Room & Pitch Hire

SYCT provides a range of rooms/sport halls are available
for hiring at several facilities locally.
All rooms are available for hire at the same price of just £22 per hour,
for weekly bookings and £30 for one off bookings .

On Monday 20th June 2022, Streatham Youth and Community Trust was selected as a showcase of good practice in our employment support services to young people. A delegation from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) visited us to see how we work with young people.
